A little tease of a one hot talent, the fabulous Jessica Labus

After a whirlwind trip to NYC, encompassing visits with friends, beers, and photo shoots, I managed to do the first edit already of the shoot that I had today with the amazing talented Jessica Labus. I simply couldn't help it. It was so amazing that I just had to. The images are just awesome and to narrow them down for one post is going to be one hefty task. So, I thought I'd just start off with one. So, here is Jessica Labus, an amazing singer/songwriter coming at ya from New York City. Stay tuned (literally) for the rest.

Cheers and smiles to Ayden James!

I know you blogstalkers sit and wait in pained suspense as I tease you with a single frame before the whole post is revealed, but fret no mas, wait no more, because the time has come to reveal little Ayden James in all his one month old glory! I had the immense privilege of being asked to photograph him for first-time parents, Priscilla and Bryan. I feel so lucky that I have reconnected with these two because they are some of the nicest people I've had the honor of spending time with. So, I had a fantastic time with the new family as we made pictures and chatted. I'm not quite sure if there is a better way to spend a morning. We all had a great time, and it was obvious how parenting comes with ease for these two. I can't wait to photograph Ayden as he grows! Congratulations, Priscilla and Bryan!

It started out a little Ayden sleeping...

...and then he started to stir and stretch his cute little arms over his head...

The the little man was awake and animated...

This might just be my favorite from this set...I love the way Ayden is looking up at his mommy...

A beaming Priscilla...

The first of the little hands shots...

How cute is this?

Teeny toes...

Proud Papa...

"Hey, Dad...whatcha doin' up there?"

Ayden was not pleased the whole time, but it gave the chance to snag this shot, which may just be the cutest baby crying shot ever. Look at his little baby fat scrunched all up...

My friend. Amy...

Hey, guys,

Like I said, I'm in NY state of mind thinking about my trip next week to NY, which will be my first time back since I've moved to CT. I will be seeing my friend, Amy, who I did two maternity shoots for over a year ago. She was so beautiful pregnant (as she is always), and I just wanted to do a quick little post of some of those shots. I will post more from those sessions in the future, but I just had to give you a little glimpse...

I can't wait to see you, Amy!

This first one I feel is reminiscent of Stevie Nicks...

Just beautiful...

Sneak Peek: Meet Ayden James

I just couldn't resist posting this little snippet from the baby shoot I had today of beautiful little Ayden James, who is now one month old. Ayden is the first born to the wonderful couple, Priscilla and Bryan, who I've known since high school! They have started a beautiful family, and I'm so excited that I got to photograph this little one so early on. This is just the teaser...stay tuned for the whole post! Without further adieu, meet little Ayden...

Memories of Coney Island...

Hey guys. I've been back in Connecticut since last June, and have just planned my first trip back to the city since I've been home. I have 2 photo shoots scheduled for when I go in about a week and a half, and I'm very excited. So, as my thoughts drifted to a New York state of mind, I was glancing through some NY photos when I came across these Coney Island photos. This was the first Mermaid Parade I had the honor to attend ('07), and I thought probably the last as Coney Island has been undergoing change with developers fighting over the fate of the land of amusement. But to my delight, I see that there is a Mermaid Parade scheduled for this year on Saturday, June 20. It's a fanatstic freak fest...basically Halloween in the middle of summer, and what a glorious way to revel in the sun? So, dress up, drink strangely fruity slushy drinks, and rock out in the one and only Coney Island. Maybe I'll see ya there.

When I saw her, I just ran out of film and had to reload my Hasselblad. When I looked up, I couldn't find her, and thought I lost her when one of the people I was with pointed at her down the sidewalk. I chased her down the street through the crowd so I could photograph her...This may be the fiercest (and certainly tallest) drag queen I've ever laid my eyes on...and she knew it. She was the subject of many a curious photographer that day, and I'm so glad she posed for me...

Then night fell, and I caught this awesome shot of the Cyclone, which I rode for the first time that night...
